Delhi To Launch Tethered Hot-Air Balloon Rides Saturday After Trial at Baansera

The DDA is rolling out a DGCA-certified, safety-monitored attraction as part of its push to activate the rejuvenated Yamuna riverfront.

Overview

  • Public rides begin November 29 at Baansera Park with tickets priced at ₹3,000 per person, excluding taxes.
  • Tethered flights will initially run four hours daily with trips of roughly 7–12 minutes and standard baskets carrying four people.
  • The Delhi L-G said he tested the ride during Tuesday’s trial and highlighted four tethers rated at seven tonnes each for safety.
  • The service is slated to expand to three more DDA sites: Asita, Yamuna Sports Complex and the Commonwealth Games Village Sports Complex.
  • Officials said the operator is registered with the DGCA and has requisite clearances, with Hindustan Times identifying Air Safari as the company.
