Delhi to Install Critical Care Blocks, Expand Mental Health Clinics Under PM-ABHIM

Delhi’s health ministry is prioritizing the expansion of intensive care units, establishment of district Brain Health Clinics, securing medicine stockpiles before the monsoon season.

  • Health Minister Pankaj Kumar Singh has ordered the setup of critical care blocks in government-run hospitals to boost emergency preparedness under the Pradhan Mantri Ayushman Bharat Health Infrastructure Mission.
  • Brain Health Clinics will be established in every district following strong public response to the pilot clinic at Indira Gandhi Hospital in Dwarka.
  • Model health labs are to be rolled out across Delhi to provide essential diagnostic testing and all government hospitals must complete registration under the Hospital Information Management System.
  • The number of dialysis machines in government hospitals will be increased to more than 300 to reduce patient transfers between facilities.
  • Officials have been directed to prioritize emergency medicine procurement ahead of the monsoon season and to expand Ayushman Bharat empanelment, including upcoming dental services at TIBBIA College.
