Overview

• The 18-year-old victim, Ajeem, challenged 21-year-old Shane Alam on June 4 over lewd remarks made toward a girl in Gandhi Nagar, east Delhi.
• Around 8:30 am on June 5, Shadab allegedly restrained Ajeem on his building’s staircase while Alam stabbed him in the right side of his abdomen with a thread trimmer.
• A FIR under sections 118(1), 3, and 5 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita has been filed at Gandhi Nagar Police Station based on the victim’s statement.
• Authorities recovered the makeshift trimmer used in the assault and handed it over to SDN Hospital staff but have not yet apprehended the two suspects.
