Overview

  • The Public Works Department has mapped 410 waterlogging points across the capital, up from 308 in 2023, with 335 under its direct remit.
  • More than 70 percent of desilting work has been finished and pump installations are underway, with all clearance set for completion by June 30.
  • District magistrates are coordinating with six agencies, including the Municipal Corporation of Delhi and Delhi Jal Board, to resolve 71 critical waterlogging hotspots.
  • A June 20 coordination meeting assigned site-specific responsibilities for trouble spots such as Modi Mill flyover, Mukarba Chowk and the Qutub Minar metro station.
  • Standard operating procedures for underpass drainage have been issued and a nodal officer will oversee progress at each identified hotspot.
