Delhi Shelter Board Approves Fast-Track Upgrades, Sets Jan. 15 Deadline for Sawda Ghevra

- The board approved repair and renovation of 2,416 ready flats at Sawda Ghevra, to be completed by January 15, with allotment only after water, electricity and sanitation are fully functional.
- Essential amenities were mandated across DUSIB colonies, including daily-need commercial units, community halls, sewage treatment, parks, adequate water arrangements, roads and sewer networks.
- Ayushman Arogya Mandirs will be established at 124 DUSIB sites to expand access to primary healthcare within resettlement colonies.
- Renovation projects in Sultanpuri, Dwarka and Bhalswa were cleared with instructions to fast-track construction and add e-rickshaw charging and parking where required.
- Officials were directed to present comprehensive layout plans at the next board meeting, as Urban Development Minister Ashish Sood urged inclusion of vegetable shops and milk booths to support livelihoods.
