Overview
- Schools must publish admission criteria and point systems for open seats by November 28, then upload applicant details by January 9 and points awarded by January 16.
- The application window runs December 4–27, with the first merit and waitlist on January 23, a query period January 24–February 3, a second list on February 9, and admissions closing March 19.
- Minimum ages as of March 31, 2026 are set at three for nursery, four for KG and five for Class 1, with up to one month of relaxation at the head of school’s discretion.
- Transparency rules require online display of point breakups and video-recorded draws of lots in parents’ presence, and schools are barred from capitation or compulsory prospectus purchases; the registration fee is capped at Rs 25.
- The schedule applies only to open-category seats, schools must reserve 25% seats at the entry level and comply with disability law in framing criteria, and district monitoring cells led by deputy directors will oversee compliance and grievances.
