Delhi Selects 75 Schools for CM Shri Initiative With AI, Solar Power and Shift to CBSE

Aligned with NEP 2020, the plan follows the National Curriculum Framework 2023, initiating a recruitment drive for teachers and administrators.

Overview

  • Education Minister Ashish Sood said the government has provisionally shortlisted 75 existing schools and plans to make them operational in the coming weeks.
  • The Directorate of Education issued June circulars inviting applications from Post Graduate Teachers, Trained Graduate Teachers, Primary Teachers, principals and vice-principals with at least five years before retirement.
  • All shortlisted schools will transition from the Delhi Board of School Education to the Central Board of Secondary Education to standardize curriculum delivery.
  • Each campus will operate as a zero-waste, solar-powered facility equipped with AR/VR-enabled smart classrooms, AI-integrated libraries, biometric attendance systems and dedicated robotics laboratories.
  • A ₹100 crore corpus allocated in the 2025-26 budget will fund these upgrades under the National Curriculum Framework 2023.
