Delhi Schools Roll Out Veer Gatha 5.0 From Sept. 10–20 After SCERT Order

The programme mobilises students to honour gallantry awardees through creative work with top entries bound for national recognition at Republic Day 2026.

Overview

  • SCERT acted on a Sept. 1 Ministry of Education directive issued with Defence Ministry coordination, telling Delhi schools to complete Veer Gatha 5.0 activities by Sept. 20.
  • The order applies to all institutions, including DoE and MCD schools, aided schools, the Delhi Cantonment Board and private schools.
  • Students will submit poems, essays, paintings, short videos and multimedia projects, with schools uploading selected work to the MyGov portal for evaluation.
  • National winners will be announced ahead of Republic Day 2026, with each award carrying a ₹10,000 cash prize and formal recognition.
  • Schools must establish ‘Veer Gatha Corners’ highlighting military traditions and bravery stories, share photos on X tagging the Defence Minister and Delhi Chief Minister, and maintain designated nodal officers whose details were filed on Sept. 5.
