Overview

  • The government has reinstated the U-Special fleet in principle with air-conditioned, LED-lit buses equipped with music systems, awaiting finalization of routes and schedules.
  • On August 5, CM Gupta inaugurated a modern four-storey academic block at the DU Social Centre School in Maurice Nagar featuring 21 state-of-the-art classrooms.
  • The upgraded school building, constructed in 21 months at a cost of ₹21 crore, will receive formal recognition to educate students up to Class 12.
  • Gupta directed Education Minister Ashish Sood to draft a plan for each DU college to adopt two to three government schools with weekly student visits for teaching and mentoring.
  • These measures are part of Delhi’s broader campaign to upgrade educational infrastructure, enhance student welfare and democratize access across the capital.
