Delhi PWD Starts Post‑Monsoon Road Repairs, Launches ₹50.7 Crore Northeast Package

CRIF funding clears the way for resurfacing, structural fixes, visibility upgrades on priority corridors.

Overview

  • Officials said tenders have been floated across multiple zones, with work on several stretches expected to begin within about a month and many contracts targeting completion in roughly five months.
  • The ₹50.7 crore northeast Delhi package covers key arteries and flyovers including Loni Road, Old GT Road, Seelampur and Nand Nagri flyovers, with cold milling, stone mastic asphalt and thermoplastic markings specified.
  • A separate push focuses on 12 high‑traffic links to Outer Ring Road such as Timarpur Road, Lucknow Road, Polo Road, Bhamashah Road, Main Burari Road, Vishwavidyalaya Marg and Guru Teg Bahadur Road, budgeted at about ₹45 crore.
  • Citywide plans reported earlier encompass more than 80 stretches with an overall outlay approaching ₹300 crore, including Noida Link Road works that add reflective markings, cat’s‑eyes and solar‑powered studs for better night and fog visibility.
  • Most stretches are being financed under the Central Road and Infrastructure Fund following a recent ₹800 crore allocation, with provisions for third‑party monitoring, stricter drainage standards and contractor waste disposal to MCD‑approved sites.
