Overview
- Officials say the Inderlok–Kashmere Gate link would complete a continuous, signal‑free route from the Delhi–Haryana border into central Delhi.
- With the tunnel, the corridor’s planned length rises from about 20 km to roughly 24 km, connecting ISBT, Outer Ring Road and the Wazirabad corridor.
- PWD has begun interdepartmental coordination to align the project with wider mobility plans and to finalise technical integration with the elevated sections.
- Preliminary estimates from the department project up to a 40% cut in travel time between the Delhi–Haryana border and Kashmere Gate.
- The extension is intended to ease chronic bottlenecks at Mukarba Chowk, Azadpur and Roshanara Road and to benefit commuters from Sonipat, Rohtak and UER-II.
