Delhi PWD Launches Post-Monsoon Road Fix and Under-Flyover Makeover Drive

A funded tender rollout with a nine-month design mandate marks the shift from planning to execution.

Overview

  • Tenders have been floated to repair 12 key roads linking to the Outer Ring Road at an estimated Rs 45 crore, with phased works planned over the next few months.
  • A ₹50.7 crore package to strengthen battered stretches in northeast Delhi has been launched, with work slated to start in about a month and finish within five months.
  • The NE Delhi works cover Loni Road, Old GT Road and other corridors, plus repairs to flyovers at Nand Nagri, Loni, Gokalpuri, Khajuri, Shastri Park and Seelampur.
  • Across the city, more than 80 stretches are in the pipeline with an overall plan nearing ₹300 crore, much of it drawing on CRIF funding and including upgrades on the Noida Link Road.
  • Specifications call for cold milling, stone mastic asphalt, thermoplastic markings and RCC crash barriers, with third-party monitoring and waste disposal to MCD-approved facilities; in parallel, a consultant will deliver DPRs in nine months to repurpose land under 93 flyovers into public amenities.
