Delhi Premier League Season 2 Kicks Off With Expanded Men’s Field and Second Women’s Edition

The DDCA has added two new franchises to the men’s league with upgraded infrastructure designed to elevate domestic T20 pathways.

Overview

  • South Delhi Superstarz and East Delhi Riders open the tournament at 8 PM local time on August 2 at the Arun Jaitley Stadium.
  • The men’s league has expanded from six to eight teams with the addition of the New Delhi Tigers and Outer Delhi Warriors in a 43-match round-robin and playoff format.
  • The second women’s edition runs from August 17 to 24 featuring four teams and seven matches at the same venue.
  • Player auctions on July 6–7 saw more than 520 players go under the hammer, with top bids including ₹39 lakh for Simarjeet Singh and ₹38 lakh for Digvesh Rathi.
  • Season 2 squads blend established IPL performers like Rishabh Pant, Ishant Sharma and Ayush Badoni with rising Delhi talents such as Aryaveer Kohli and Aaryavir Sehwag.
