Delhi Premier League Expands to Eight Teams and Unveils Season 2 Auction Framework

The new framework caps each franchise to one retained player alongside fixed purse limits for men’s and women’s squads ahead of July’s auctions.

Purani Dilli 6 confirmed Rishabh Pant as its one retained marquee under the DDCA’s single-player retention rule.
Outer Delhi and New Delhi franchises join the league to bring the men’s competition to eight teams for Season 2.
The DDCA set auction purses at ₹1.5 crore per men’s franchise and ₹75 lakhs per women’s franchise with category-based retention deductions.
Each original franchise receives one Right to Match card for Category A, B or C players during the men’s and women’s auctions on July 6 and 7.
Player auctions will be live streamed on Fancode from New Delhi, and full Season 2 matches are slated for Arun Jaitley Stadium.
