Delhi Police Seize 549 Grams of Cocaine in Separate Raids, Arrest 5

Investigators are mining phone and UPI records to trace suppliers and possible overseas links.

Overview

  • Crime Branch officers arrested Rahul Wadhwa, Abdul Kadir and Chimezie Lazarus Indedinge alias Zudo, seizing 194 grams of cocaine valued at about Rs 2.25 crore.
  • A tip-off led to a September 6 trap in Rohini that caught two couriers, followed by a September 10 Mehrauli raid in which the alleged supplier Zudo was held with 109 grams.
  • In a separate South Delhi case, police arrested Nigerian national Benjamin Izuchukwu and Côte d’Ivoire national Coulibaly Mariam in Chattarpur with 355 grams worth roughly Rs 70 lakh.
  • Investigators say orders were taken over WhatsApp, deliveries were handled by Mariam, and payments were routed via UPI to small retail shops before being collected in cash.
  • Police cited disclosures on pricing (procured near Rs 8,000 per gram, sold around Rs 10,000) and named an upstream contact “Joseph,” while analyzing devices and finances to dismantle the wider network.
