Overview

  • On June 26 near the Mahipalpur underpass, three graduates stopped security guard Amarpal Singh by posing as Delhi Police and seized his Hero Splendor under the pretext of rash driving.
  • The trio had met in Kishangarh to drink and, while intoxicated, conspired to carry out the fake-cop robbery for a self-described “thrill.”
  • Investigators analysed roughly 250–300 CCTV cameras and formed three intelligence-led teams under Inspectors Sumit, Satish and Avdesh to trace the suspects’ route and bike registration.
  • Officers arrested Garvit Sharma in Palam, Aniket Singh in Kishangarh and Prashanth Kumar in Dashrath Puri, and recovered both the stolen motorcycle and the getaway bike from dumping sites.
  • The IGI Airport Police continue their forensic and intelligence investigation into the impersonation scheme and related offences.
