Overview
- Two men riding a scooter with a jewellery consignment were intercepted near Bhairon Mandir by motorcycle-borne assailants who brandished a pistol and fled with their bags.
- The victims were identified as Shivam Kumar Yadav, 28, and his associate Raghav, 55, who had collected items from Chandni Chowk before the holdup near Bharat Mandapam.
- The complainant reported a loss of about ₹1 crore, including roughly 500 grams of gold and 35 kilograms of silver, though police said the valuation and weights are being verified.
- Tilak Marg police said CCTV is being reviewed, raids are underway, the jewellery store owner has been called in, and no arrests had been announced at the time of reporting.
- In a separate development, the Crime Branch arrested 19-year-old Khyam alias Fahim as the prime accused in the June 12 Subhash Place stabbing-robbery, after earlier arrests of Jitender, Vijay Kumar, Vishal Sain and Shivam.
