Delhi Police Marks 4th Commissionerate Day With Valor Awards and Crime-Fighting Milestones

Overview

  • Lieutenant Governor Vinai Kumar Saxena and Commissioner Sanjay Arora took the salute at the fourth annual Commissionerate Day parade held at Kingsway Camp.
  • The Ahat Veer Samman Patra was conferred on four officers who were martyred in the line of duty and on several personnel injured in service, including Inspector Ravinder Kumar Tyagi.
  • Commissioner Sanjay Arora said that over 2.5 lakh FIRs have been registered under recently implemented criminal laws and charge sheets filed in more than 62,000 cases.
  • In 2024 the force destroyed over 26,000 kg of narcotics valued at about Rs 9,200 crore and seized illicit assets worth Rs 4.75 crore, and by mid-2025 it had dismantled an additional 4,900 kg of drugs.
  • SMART policing measures highlighted include the deployment of Smart Police Booths, the revival of the ZIPNET portal and a streamlined Zero E-FIR registration system.
