- Victims were instructed to pay advance fees of Rs 1,200–1,500 for counterfeit high-security plates that never arrived.
- Payments were funneled through UPI QR codes linked to forged-identity bank accounts and rotated across mule accounts to evade detection.
- Investigators recovered five mobile phones, a laptop, nine debit cards, a bank passbook and digital QR records and are tracing additional accomplices.
