Delhi Police Detains 29 Undocumented Bangladeshi Nationals in East and Southwest Delhi

Intelligence-led door-to-door checks identified migrants using forged documents with deportation proceedings operating under FRRO coordination.

  • On June 19, Vasant Kunj officers detained 17 Bangladeshi nationals, including eight minors and a woman who delivered a baby at Safdarjung Hospital.
  • A June 12 verification drive in Anand Vihar led to the arrest of 12 nationals, including six minors, bringing the total to 29.
  • Investigators seized mobile phones and recovered photos and documents that confirmed the detainees’ Bangladeshi citizenship.
  • Police said the group evaded immigration controls by entering India via unguarded jungle routes and boarding express trains.
  • All detainees are held at the PP Badola detention centre under deportation orders issued by the FRRO, with medical and child welfare support in place.
