Delhi Police Detain Three Nigerian Nationals for Visa Overstay, Start FRRO Deportation
Embassy plus immigration verification confirmed overstays triggering FRRO removal.
Overview
- The South West District Operations Cell identified the detainees as Eloumuno Gabriel, 29, from Amambra; Chinedu Paulinus, 33, from Asaba; and Sunusi Sani, 26, from Lagos.
- Police intercepted the trio in Sagarpur and Palam after an intelligence tip, where they failed to show valid visas and initially claimed documents were with the Nigerian High Commission.
- Verification with the High Commission of Nigeria and the Immigration Department showed their visas had long expired and they had not returned to Nigeria.
- Searches of their phones yielded copies of Nigerian passports and national ID cards, and the men said they were doing housekeeping and other informal jobs while living near Palam Village in Dwarka Sector-01.
- Deportation proceedings have been initiated through the FRRO, with officials noting a continuing drive that on September 21 also saw two Bangladeshi nationals detained in a separate operation and put into the deportation process.
