Delhi Police Detain Nine Bangladeshi Nationals in Latest Crackdown

They have been produced before the FRRO in R.K. Puram to begin deportation proceedings under a nationwide enforcement drive.

Overview

  • Two women were arrested in Delhi Cantt on July 15 and seven more detainees were held in separate raids by Dwarka’s Bindapur unit and the South West District’s Operations Cell on July 16.
  • The women admitted entering India in 2023 via the Bangaon border and Tripura, while five migrants detained in Palam confessed to crossing into India in 2017 and working at brick kilns in Haryana.
  • A 13-year-old boy was among the group detained in the Palam operation after failing to produce valid Indian documentation.
  • Police recovered Bangladeshi national ID cards, birth certificates and forged Indian documents during searches of mobile phones and social media accounts.
  • All nine individuals were handed over to the Foreigners Regional Registration Office at R.K. Puram to initiate formal deportation steps under a Home Ministry directive.
