Overview
- The Crime Branch traced the probe to a February 7 parcel intercepted at a New Delhi courier facility that concealed about 2.998 kg of opium under a false bottom.
- Investigators recovered a total of 5.138 kg of opium after multi-state raids in Punjab, Haryana and Rajasthan and arrested four men identified as Simranjeet Singh, Hardeep Singh, Yadvinder Singh and Jivan Singh.
- Forensic checks of mobile devices and banking records, plus analysis of encrypted messaging, showed coordinated roles for procurement, concealment, courier booking with forged KYC and layered money flows through proxy accounts and UPI channels.
- Delhi Police allege the syndicate routed shipments to Canada where sales produced large profit margins and that those proceeds funded a Canada-linked Khalistani network led by Arsh Dalla, with weapons then smuggled back into Punjab by drone, a claim under active investigation.
- Police say the operation exposed tradecraft including GPS-referenced dead drops, Signal and WhatsApp coordination, and falsified consignor details, and they are now focusing on prosecuting the arrested men and identifying foreign-based handlers and other conspirators.
