  • Investigators say the gang posed as admission consultants and used bulk SMS pitches to sell nonexistent management-quota seats through a Nehru Place office.
  • A Delhi Police head constable reported losing Rs 2.3 lakh after a July 29 meeting at Bhandari House following an SMS that promised an IP University seat at Surajmal College.
  • Digital footprint analysis, IP tracing, call records, and CCTV led officers to an Indirapuram flat where Kushagra Srivastava, 35, and Chinmaya Sinha, 32, were detained.
  • Police recovered Rs 1.34 crore in cash along with six high-end mobile phones, a laptop, and documents tied to students and colleges.
  • At least 31 complaints have been flagged, several transferred to the EOW, the seized cash was reported to the Income Tax Department, and a woman who identified herself as Lavanya remains untraced.
