Overview

  • On June 24, Delhi Police’s Intelligence Fusion and Strategic Operations unit raided AVS Holidays in Kirti Nagar and arrested its director, Akshay Sharma.
  • Authorities say Sharma used search engine optimization, social media ads and forged certificates to pose as a travel agency and target US, UK and Canadian victims.
  • Officers seized 36 laptops, six mobile phones, four external hard drives and hundreds of forged medical and death certificates during the raid.
