Delhi Police Arrest Two in Qibla Perfumes Shooting

Police have launched raids after registering an attempt-to-murder case following a shooting by a former tenant outside the shop.

Overview

  • On August 2 at about 10 pm former tenant Ehsaan arrived outside Qibla Perfumes in Nizamuddin and opened fire during a dispute with co-owner Waseem.
  • CCTV footage reviewed by investigators confirmed one of the two arrested suspects fired three shots that struck 32-year-old shop owner Furkan in the leg.
  • Furkan remains under treatment at AIIMS Trauma Centre with a non–life-threatening injury.
  • Officers seized three empty cartridges and two live rounds at the scene and filed charges under sections 109(1) and 3(5) of the BNS along with relevant Arms Act provisions.
  • Authorities are continuing raids to identify and apprehend the other suspects named in the ongoing investigation.
