Delhi Police Arrest Three in Fake CBI Officer Home Raid

Through multi-camera CCTV analysis, Delhi Police traced the disguised raiders to Uttarakhand to recover most of the looted valuables.

Overview

  • On July 18, Delhi Police arrested the suspects—Shaina alias Tannu, 22; Keshav Prasad, 28; and Vivek Singh, 20—in Mussoorie and Haridwar after a cross-state manhunt.
  • Investigators recovered ₹1.75 lakh in cash, 29 pieces of gold and silver jewellery, the motorcycle used in the raid, and the clothes worn by the imposters.
  • Shaina confessed to orchestrating the July 10 raid by exploiting her familial connection to the victim and masking her identity to avoid recognition.
  • During the heist, the trio posed as CBI officers, broke open an almirah, and falsely documented seized items in the victim’s notebook before fleeing.
  • The accused have been booked under charges of cheating by impersonation, criminal conspiracy, and theft following an FIR filed on July 11.
