Delhi Police Arrest Nigerian Man Accused of Duping Over 100 Women via Language App

Police say seized chats point to a wider network now under investigation.

  • Stephane, also known as K Cee Dominic, 29, was picked up from a rented flat in Tilak Nagar in west Delhi after a cyber fraud complaint.
  • According to police, he posed as “Duck Young,” a UK-based Korean jewellery businessman, on a language-exchange app to befriend and exploit single women.
  • A Shahdara complainant reported paying ₹48,500 after callers claimed he was detained at Mumbai airport for documentation issues, with a further ₹2 lakh demanded.
  • Investigators seized a mobile phone holding the fake profile and evidence of chats with more than 100 women, with victims allegedly sending money via UPI.
  • During interrogation, he said he entered India in 2019 on a six-month tourist visa using a passport procured via Ivory Coast, overstayed, and turned to cyber fraud as the cyber unit works to trace victims, accomplices and funds.
