Delhi Police Arrest Four Tied to Bishnoi Syndicate After Gunfight to Foil Mohali Plot

Investigators say the cell answered to US-based handler Harry Boxer within the Lawrence Bishnoi network.

Overview

  • Special Cell officers intercepted two suspects on a motorbike in New Ashok Nagar late Wednesday, and after the duo opened fire police shot and injured Kartik Jakhar and detained him along with Kavish.
  • Interrogation of the Delhi arrestees led to a follow-up raid at a Mohali hotel where police arrested Manoj Saharan and Pawan Kumar and recovered weapons.
  • Police say the Mohali pair had been tasked to shoot a local businessman who had earlier received a Rs 10 crore extortion demand, and officers recovered the target’s photograph.
  • Officials link the four to the Boxer-Godara network connected to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, citing recent extortion threats to businessmen in Delhi, Rajasthan and Punjab and Boxer's claimed link to a firing outside Kapil Sharma’s Canada cafe.
  • The arrests extend a broader crackdown on the network following Jharkhand ATS’s early‑August extradition from Baku of Mayank Singh, identified by police as a conduit between Aman Sahu and the Bishnoi syndicate.
