- Crime branch teams acted on a tip-off, used technical tracking, and laid a trap to detain the suspect in the Hari Nagar area.
- Police identified him as Deep Shubham of Sitamarhi, Bihar, currently based in Sohna, Haryana, and declared a proclaimed offender in the Delhi cases.
- He is accused of two armed jewellery shop robberies in Model Town/Gujranwala in 2021, taking over ₹6 lakh and phones in one incident and ₹70,000 in another.
- Officers say he earlier robbed a Bank of India branch in Pupri, Bihar, in 2017 using a homemade smoke bomb made from methyl acetate and benzene, escaping with about ₹3.6 lakh before later being convicted.
- After securing bail in the Delhi cases he absconded, frequently changed locations, worked as an interior designer in Sohna, and is now under further investigation with coordination underway with Bihar Police.
