Delhi Police Arrest 20-Year-Old Absconding Suspect in Bindapur Murder
Officers say a tip led to a trap at Katewara village that ended his weeks on the run.
Overview
- The accused, identified as Ashad alias Arshad, 20, was taken into custody in connection with the August 17 killing of Kuldeep Singh in Bindapur.
- Police say the case stems from a complaint by Singh’s nephew Bunty, who alleged an argument with Ritik and Munna before Ritik allegedly stabbed Singh in the chest with a knife provided by an associate.
- Two accused, Pawan and Munna, had already been arrested in the case, and officers say efforts are underway to locate remaining suspects.
- Investigators say they apprehended Ashad after receiving confidential information that he would visit Katewara village to meet associates and laying a targeted trap.
- During questioning, police linked Ashad to a May robbery and abduction-for-ransom case registered at Vikaspuri and said he evaded capture by switching locations, phones, and intermittent work at a garment shop in Uttam Nagar.
