Overview
- All blocks of the new centres, including waiting areas, must have CCTV coverage under the DoE order.
- The centres will run six days a week from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., excluding gazetted holidays, second Saturdays and Sundays, with operations continuing during school vacations.
- Each therapy session will last 45 minutes, with up to eight sessions permitted per child in a day across functional centres.
- Students must be escorted by their special education teacher for assessments and therapy; if unavailable, a teacher deputed by the head of school will accompany the child and relay session details to the SET and parents.
- Services include physiotherapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy and clinical psychology, with SETs mapping needs and making referrals as heads of schools monitor daily operations and safety, with the DoE warning that lapses will be taken seriously.
