Delhi Opens Third 24/7 Aarambh Study Library in Dwarka
The opening is part of a ten-library plan launched in response to a deadly 2024 basement flooding that killed three civil service aspirants.
Overview
- The Aarambh Library in Dwarka Sector 16-B began operations on July 28 with round-the-clock access divided into three 8-hour daily shifts at Rs 1,000 per month.
- The air-conditioned facility accommodates around 200 students and offers high-speed Wi-Fi, secure lockers, CCTV surveillance, modular study tables and Cafe Vardaan.
- Wellness amenities include an open-air gym, running track, outdoor seating and separate washrooms with an accessible toilet to support student health.
- Delhi Development Authority will inaugurate two more branches in Vikaspuri and Rohini within 20 days as it works toward a network of ten Aarambh libraries citywide.
- Spearheaded by Lieutenant Governor V.K. Saxena with backing from Prime Minister Modi, the initiative repurposes underused community centres into safe, affordable study spaces.
