Overview

  • Lieutenant Governor V.K. Saxena and Chief Minister Rekha Gupta presided over the inauguration of the Malviya Nagar centre as the second Aarambh library following the January opening in Rajinder Nagar.
  • The centre accommodates 180 students across three eight-hour shifts at a nominal monthly fee of ₹1,000 per user and is equipped with CCTV surveillance for enhanced security.
  • Students gain access to air-conditioned study areas with campus-wide Wi-Fi, power outlets at every seat, personal lockers, a cafeteria and outdoor seating.
  • The initiative repurposes underutilized DDA community centres to offer regulated alternatives to private coaching facilities after a 2024 drowning tragedy underscored student safety risks.
  • Four additional centres are slated to follow soon, including sites in Dwarka, Vikaspuri and Rohini.
