Overview
- The Punjabi Bagh project cost about ₹31 crore, spans 3,000 sq. metres and accommodates 225 vehicles using a system that requires no human intervention after placement.
- A second automated facility at Bharat Darshan Park has been launched with an estimated ₹31.65 crore budget over 1,500 sq. metres for 188 vehicles and a 10-year operations-and-maintenance plan.
- Chief Minister Rekha Gupta directed delivery of roughly 100 similar automated parking structures across Delhi within the next 18 months, including time for tendering and approvals.
- The Municipal Corporation of Delhi is the implementing agency, and an official said the facilities’ façades will carry advertising to generate revenue for reinvestment in civic services.
