Delhi-NCR Reimposes GRAP Stage-III on Worsening Air-Quality Forecasts

Officials moved on forecasts of stagnant conditions expected to push Delhi's AQI into the severe range.

Overview

  • CAQM invoked all Stage-III measures with immediate effect across the entire NCR as a proactive step.
  • Delhi’s AQI was in the very poor band with readings in the mid-300s on Friday after rising from Thursday, including 354 at 4 pm.
  • Curbs ban non-essential construction and demolition and order closure of stone crushers, brick kilns, mining, and industries using unapproved fuels.
  • Vehicle restrictions include BS-III petrol and BS-IV diesel four-wheelers, non-essential diesel medium goods vehicles, and inter-state diesel buses unless CNG, electric, or BS-VI.
  • Essential infrastructure and services continue under strict controls, primary classes may shift to hybrid or online, and agencies will keep monitoring with scope to tighten measures.
