Delhi Names Six Sites for New Air-Quality Monitors, Sets Jan. 15 Commissioning Target

A DPCC contractor will operate the network for a decade with validated, real-time data fed to DPCC and CPCB dashboards.

Overview

  • The stations are planned at JNU, IGNOU, the ISRO Earth Station near Malcha Mahal, Delhi Cantonment, the Commonwealth Sports Complex, and NSUT West Campus.
  • Once live, the DPCC footprint rises from 24 to 30 stations and the citywide network expands from 40 to 46.
  • Officials said an initial tender drew a single bidder and was scrapped, a second tender succeeded, and a work order has been issued with commissioning targeted within two months.
  • Each site will continuously track PM2.5, PM10, SO2, NO, NO2, NOx, NH3, CO, O3 and BTEX along with wind, temperature, humidity, rainfall and solar radiation.
  • Data will be displayed publicly and the vendor must run 24×7 operations with routine calibration and penalties for downtime, addressing scrutiny of air-quality reporting.
