Delhi, Mumbai Police Link Arrests to Suspected Jamshedpur Forgery Ring in Espionage Probe

  • CIU officers traced the document trail to Jamshedpur and arrested cyber cafe owner Munazzir (Monazir) Khan on allegations he fabricated forged educational credentials and IDs; devices were seized and VPN use is under probe.
  • Police say the network appears to have operated from Jamshedpur to produce counterfeit IDs and passports, with central agencies and BARC notified for verification and wider inquiry.
  • At least one accused named Ilyas remains absconding as investigators examine foreign travel by the brothers, potential recipients of forged passports, and offences registered under BNS and the Passport Act.
