Overview
- DMRC held a ground-breaking and first test-pile event on December 12 at Pushpa Bhawan near Saket, attended by Managing Director Vikas Kumar and representatives of RVNL and the contractor.
- The corridor will be fully elevated with eight stations: Lajpat Nagar, Andrews Ganj, Greater Kailash-1, Chirag Delhi, Pushpa Bhawan, Saket District Centre, Pushp Vihar and Saket G Block.
- The line will connect with the Magenta Line at Chirag Delhi and with the Violet and Pink Lines at Lajpat Nagar, establishing a triple interchange at Lajpat Nagar.
- DMRC says this is the first physical work to begin beyond Phase‑IV priority corridors, while the Inderlok–Indraprastha and Rithala–Narela lines remain in tendering or pre-construction.
- Initial activity involves test piling and limited earthwork with traffic approvals to be sought when pillar work begins, and the project is reported to target completion in 2029.
