Delhi Metro Sets Diwali Timetable: Early Starts Sunday, 10 PM Last Trains Monday

City agencies are boosting deployments to manage festival crowds.

Overview

  • On October 19, services on the Pink, Magenta and Grey lines begin at 6:00 am instead of the usual 7:00 am.
  • On October 20, the last trains will depart at 10:00 pm from terminal stations on all lines, including the Airport Express Line, with regular timings for the rest of the day.
  • The DMRC announced the revised schedule on X and urged passengers to plan their journeys accordingly.
  • Delhi Traffic Police have cancelled leave, deployed over 2,000 personnel and stationed additional cranes near busy markets, while the Delhi Fire Service is positioning extra fire and water tenders and quick-response vehicles for October 19–20.
  • Other metros have issued festival adjustments, with Chennai confirming a special timetable on October 20–21, AhmedabadGandhinagar reported to close by 7:00 pm on October 20, and Kolkata planning special services on the Green Line.
