Delhi Metro Ramps Up Dust Control With Anti-Smog Guns, Station Misting, Sets Mid-January Targets

The chief minister ordered DMRC to operate as a model for citywide pollution control.

  • DMRC reports 83 anti-smog guns deployed at construction sites, with installation of 20 more planned for completion by January 15.
  • Mist spray systems are in place at 37 stations, with all elevated stations slated to receive them and most installations targeted by January 20.
  • Stations on main roads are being prioritized for misting, and mist systems are mandatory where anti-smog guns are not feasible.
  • Installations or proposals cover key locations including Kashmere Gate, Samaypur Badli, Dwarka Sector-21, Rajouri Garden, Anand Vihar, Pitampura and Rithala.
  • Complementary work includes artwork on about 200 additional metro pillars by April 30, with 10 finished, and central verge maintenance at 25 stations in coordination with the PWD.
