Delhi Metro Begins Lajpat NagarSaket G Block Golden Line Work, First Non‑Priority Phase IV Section

The elevated eight-station stretch will make Lajpat Nagar a three-line hub for South Delhi connectivity.

Overview

  • DMRC launched civil works on 12 December with a ground‑breaking and first test pile at Pushpa Bhawan near Saket.
  • Rail Vikas Nigam Limited is executing the corridor, which spans about 8.385 km and is fully elevated with eight stations.
  • The line will interchange with the Magenta Line at Chirag Delhi and with the Violet and Pink Lines at Lajpat Nagar.
  • The corridor is intended to ease travel across areas such as Greater Kailash‑1, Saket and Pushp Vihar, improving access to schools, offices and commercial hubs.
  • This marks the first physical construction start beyond Phase‑IV priority corridors, while the InderlokIndraprastha and RithalaNarela extensions remain in tendering and pre‑construction stages.
