Delhi Metro Awards ₹447 Crore Lajpat Nagar–Saket G Block Link to RVNL

The elevated 7.3 km corridor will introduce India’s first three-coach train on a Golden Line spur.

Overview

  • Rail Vikas Nigam Limited has secured the ₹447.42 crore Phase 4 contract to build the 7.3 km elevated link between Lajpat Nagar and Saket G Block.
  • The project comprises eight elevated stations: Saket G Block, Pushp Vihar, Saket District Centre, Pushpa Bhawan, Chirag Delhi, Greater Kailash-1, Andrews Ganj and Lajpat Nagar.
  • Detailed design and construction of the viaduct and stations will commence soon with a targeted completion within 36 months.
  • This marks RVNL’s first assignment for the Delhi Metro, expanding its role beyond ongoing metro projects in eight other Indian cities.
  • The new spur will connect with the Golden Line between Tughlakabad and Aerocity and deploy India’s inaugural three-coach train system.
