Delhi Metro Advances First Trains to 5:15 AM at New Delhi and Anand Vihar Through Nov. 3

The move supports Delhi’s air-quality plan by boosting capacity now, with readiness to expand if GRAP Stage III is triggered.

Overview

  • DMRC is running an early timetable from October 30 to November 3 to handle the post-Chhath Puja return surge at key entry hubs.
  • First services now start at 5:15 am from New Delhi (Yellow Line) and Anand Vihar ISBT (Blue/Pink), aligning with heavy arrivals at NDLS and ANVT.
  • Additional early-morning trains are being deployed from the two stations, with DMRC highlighting interchange availability across major nodes to ease transfers.
  • On regular days, the first trains start later—5:45 am from New Delhi and 6:05 am from Anand Vihar—so the temporary starts are earlier than usual.
  • DMRC has already added 40 weekday trips after GRAP-II took effect and says it will scale up to 60 additional trips if GRAP Stage III comes into force.
