Overview

  • On June 7, a 96-metre TBM bored a 0.792-kilometre tunnel between Maa Anandmayee Marg and Tughlakabad Railway Colony Station on the Golden Line.
  • The tunnel sits about 18 metres below the surface, spans 5.8 metres in diameter and is lined with 566 precast concrete rings cast at Mundka’s mechanised yard.
  • Construction used the Earth Pressure Balancing Method and continuous ground monitoring to prevent settlement under existing structures.
  • This segment is part of the 19.343-kilometre underground stretch on the Tughlakabad–Aerocity corridor within Phase IV’s 40.109 kilometres of new tunnels.
  • Transport Minister Pankaj Kumar Singh praised the achievement as evidence of renewed momentum and set a target for the parallel tunnel’s completion by July 2025.
