Delhi Man Arrested 600km Away After Setting Neighbour's Car on Fire Over Parking Dispute

The accused, Rahul Bhasin, was apprehended in Uttar Pradesh after a long-standing feud with his neighbour escalated into arson in South Delhi's Lajpat Nagar.

• Rahul Bhasin, a 28-year-old businessman from South Delhi, was arrested in Uttar Pradesh's Amethi, 600 kilometers from the crime scene, after setting his neighbour's car on fire.
• The incident occurred late on November 30, 2024, and was reportedly triggered by a long-standing parking dispute between Bhasin and his neighbour, Ranjeet Chauhan.
• CCTV footage captured Bhasin and two accomplices vandalizing Chauhan's car before dousing it with an inflammable liquid and setting it ablaze.
• This was not the first altercation between the two; Bhasin had previously been arrested for damaging Chauhan's cars and for threatening him during earlier disputes.
• Police used technical surveillance and human intelligence to track Bhasin's movements, leading to his arrest along with seven others involved in the incident.
