- Chief Minister Rekha Gupta announced on June 7 that all Delhi government buildings and sports stadiums will be retrofitted under the Sugamya Delhi Abhiyan to ensure barrier-free access for persons with disabilities.

- The initiative engages all 21 disability categories plus senior citizens through awareness drives and will launch special schemes to promote active participation in sports, education and public services.
- A ‘Purple Fest’ is planned to celebrate the talents and rights of persons with disabilities and foster a positive public attitude toward inclusion.
