Overview

  • As part of its Environmental Action Plan 2025, Delhi has formally requested ₹1,000 crore from the central government for new pollution-control technology and infrastructure.
  • A corporate social responsibility partnership will fund the installation of 150 advanced outdoor purifiers across the 85-acre Nehru Park pilot site.
  • Each nine-foot-tall purifier uses high-efficiency filters to capture PM2.5 particles over a 400–600 square metre radius.
  • The pilot will gather technical performance data and visitor feedback to evaluate whether the Clean Air Zone can cut AQI by up to 50%.
  • If the trial proves viable, similar Clean Air Zones could be rolled out at high-footfall locations such as Connaught Place and Khan Market.
