Overview
- The ICCC, launched Wednesday, consolidates SCADA control data, GIS maps, smart meters, consumer complaints and GPS tracking onto a single dashboard for Delhi Jal Board operators.
- A dedicated Emergency Response Vehicle was flagged off with high-capacity submersible dewatering pumps, a 60 kVA generator and repair tools, and its GPS is integrated with the command centre for faster deployments.
- JWIL Infra Limited, which is executing the Chandrawal Water Supply Project that covers roughly 10% of Delhi’s population and key areas, will manage the new command centre.
- Officials say the platform will add AI and a digital-twin model to predict pipeline bursts, detect low-pressure zones and analyse demand patterns, but those predictive features are described as next-stage capabilities rather than fully live today.
- DJB expects the system to reduce water wastage, speed up and track complaint resolution, and increase field accountability, which could lower supply disruptions and unbilled water losses for residents.
