Delhi Launches CSR Pilot for Water ATMs Ahead of Citywide School Rollout

Delhi will pilot 20 CSR-funded water ATMs in public spaces before expanding installations to schools under a broader digital infrastructure upgrade.

Overview

  • A pilot project will deploy 20 CSR-funded water ATMs at markets, hospitals, metro stations and bus terminals under a public-private partnership model.
  • The government has vowed to install water vending machines in every Delhi government school to guarantee clean drinking water for students.
  • Each standalone ATM will feature stainless steel construction, a built-in RO system, real-time water quality monitors and GPS location tracking.
  • Operators will supply cold drinking water from March to October and may use on-site advertising rights to cover operation and maintenance costs.
  • Simultaneously, the government will set up 7,000 smart classrooms, 100 language labs, 175 digital libraries and provide laptops to 1,200 meritorious students.
